This goes for the men out there, too. The girls aren’t the only ones driving each
other nuts with gossip and trash talk and criticism! The temptation to be better than the person
next to you is everywhere. It doesn’t
matter if your issue is appearance, grades in school, athletic performance, a
promotion at work or anything else…we’ve all attempted to make ourselves feel
better at one time or another by making the person next to us feel worse. Believe me when I say this isn’t what God
wants for you.
“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:13 God knows you’re not perfect, but that doesn’t mean He doesn’t want something better for you. He gives us each other for good, for support, to make us better people. Not to tear each other down. If you’re in a relationship or friendship where there’s more tearing than building it might be time to let that relationship go.
