Day 12--God's word is alive!

“If I had to pick one moment in my entire high school and middle school career that I was undeniably aware of God's presence, I would choose one specific Junior High Bible study. We were discussing he question, "why does God give wisdom to the wise?", and I remember answering with an analogy about why we give cars to teenagers and not toddlers. The exact lesson wasn't what stuck with me through these past years, but it was the appearance of knowledge and an explanation of Scripture that was most memorable. It is very easy to say you "felt" something during prayer, adoration, or even mass, but we have to remind ourselves that feelings are our own responses to God's presence and consists of us limiting Him to something so human. My experience with an explanation felt like I wasn't just experiencing a fleeting emotion but was getting just a little bit closer to the Truth that is our Lord.”  –Amanda F.

Scripture.  It isn’t just for the back of letter jackets and pretty wall hangings.  It is God’s word.  We need it….ALL of it…to understand Him better and His will for our lives.

“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”  Hebrews 4:12

And the greatest thing about the Bible is that the more time you spend in it the more you get back out of it.  You can actually hear God talking to you through the passages.  His word truly is alive!!

Even if reading isn’t your most favorite thing, try to spend a little time with the Bible today.  Pray that God would continue to show you more about who He is and how much He loves you.
