We
have the tendency to relate happiness to stuff.
How many this, how much that. I
want this, I need that. God wants us to
know that true sufficiency comes from a life full of Him, not full of stuff.
The
Apostle Paul writes, “I have learned to be content whatever the
circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have
plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation,
whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all things through him who gives me
strength.” Philippians 4:11-13
When
you have God, whether you have little or much, you will always have enough. Things in this world will come and go. But His Truth endures forever.
God, help me to put you before my
circumstances today. I know that you
will give me the strength to do what I need to do when I put you first. I praise you for the blessings in my life,
the people around me and the things I have.
Help me to use those to bless others as well so that, instead of all the
stuff, we simply see You instead.
